How to play
The game is played only in the Twitch chat of mmotwitchplays. No account, no app: you type a command in the chat, and your character does it on screen.
Join
Type !spawn in the chat. Your character appears at level 1, as the class you picked on this site — or a random class if you never came here.
Act
- q: attack
- w: defense
- e: support
- r: ultimate, only from level 10
Every action has a cooldown: type it again once it’s ready. a works like q, and z like w — handy on a French keyboard, where those keys sit side by side.
Level up
Every action the game accepts earns you XP, and you earn a little more just by staying alive while the boss is awake. Each level makes you hit harder, heal more and last longer. At level 10, r unlocks: your ultimate, once every 90 seconds.
When the boss is asleep
A boss sleeps until someone hits it, and falls back asleep when nobody is left alive. Asleep, it doesn’t attack — and nobody earns XP, so there is nothing to gain by waiting: hit it. After it wakes up, its first attack is always announced before it lands.
Move
left takes you back one zone, right takes you forward one. There are three: Back, Middle, Front. The further forward, the harder you hit the boss — and the harder it hits you: damage dealt and taken is ×0.7 in the Back, ×1 in the Middle, ×1.3 in the Front.
Moving has a cooldown too, 20 to 30 seconds depending on your class: you can’t dodge every attack of the boss by walking away. Pick your zone ahead of time.
Chain
q2 or q3 attacks 2 or 3 times in a row, in a single message — same with w2/w3 and e2/e3. While the chain runs, your character is busy: nothing else gets through until it ends, not even a defense. Chain when you’re safe, not right before a big attack is announced.
The one rule to know: never the same message twice
Twitch blocks a message that is the same as your previous one, for 30 seconds — even if the game refused it. That’s why the game rewards switching: q, w, q, e… always gets through; q, q, q doesn’t.
Refused (busy, or still on cooldown) and want to try again right away? Switch to the capital letter: for Twitch, Q is a different message from q, and the game reads both the same. It works for every key: W after w, E after e, R after r. For attack and defense, a and z give you a third option.
Dying
When your HP hits 0, your character dies and becomes a ghost. A few seconds later, type !spawn to come back: level 1, full HP, same class, in the Back zone. Dying once or twice in a boss fight is normal, even when you play well.
If you stop playing for a long while, your character leaves the screen. !spawn brings it back, at level 1.
Between two bosses
When a boss is defeated, the next one arrives at a set time, shown on the stream. Until then, type !spawn and practice on the Training Dummy with q, w and e. When the next boss arrives, everyone starts again at level 1.
See what your character is doing
The stream runs a few seconds behind, and the chat never answers you. Your live dashboard is the only place that shows your HP, your cooldowns, and whether the game got your last command. Keep it open next to the stream — on your phone, for instance.
You can also pick your class and look before you play. You don’t have to: without it, the game gives you a random class.
